Senior Meetings

Letters for senior meetings are in the process of being mailed out. If a parent would like to be called during their child's scheduled meeting time, please complete this form: Sign Up Form

Applying for College

Use this link (Apply Texas) to create an Apply Texas account. 

Within the Apply Texas website, you will find all state supported 4-year university and 2-year college applications. 

Complete the application(s), submit the application and go by the counselor's office to ask Mrs. Tomlin to send your transcript to the college or university electronically.  

Use this link (Common App) to create a Common App account.  You will apply to all other colleges and universities using this website.

You can also visit college and university websites for their individual applications.

Local Scholarship Applications

Local scholarship applications will be accepted beginning September 18th (deadline January 31, 2024) using one of the following methods:

1) Complete the form and return to the counselor's office (attn: Mrs. Allport)

2) Scan on a computer and email to Mrs. Allport: eallport@nederlandisd.org

3)  Take a photo with your cell phone of each scholarship application page and email the photos to Mrs. Allport: eallport@nederlandisd.org

4)  Mail the scholarship applications to Mrs. Allport. Use the following address:

                        220 N 17th St. Nederland, TX 77627 Write on the envelope: Attention: Counseling Office

***Next recalculating of rank and GPA will be after the conclusion of the first semester.  You can find the update on your HAC account in February

***It will also be calculated after end of fifth six weeks grades are documented and verified 

***They will be locked for final transcript

IF THE TRANSCRIPT IS FOR A LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP(THOSE TURNED IN TO MRS. Bordelon) THE TRANSCRIPT WILL BE ATTACHED TO YOUR APPLICATION ONCE APPLICATION IS TURNED IN OR SUBMITTED. IF TRANSCRIPT IS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION THE STUDENT SUBMITS TO AN OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIP SPONSOR OR ORGANIZATION, THEN MRS. TOMLIN WILL MAIL THE TRANSCRIPT TO YOUR HOME ADDRESS.

College Applications

Apply Texas Website

For all Texas 4-year colleges go to www.applytexas.org and fill out your college admission information and scholarship application attached to the applytexas website. Include all required essays, recommendation letters, counselor letters, transcript(s), and application fees.

Transcript Requests

2020-2021 Seniors may sign up for transcripts as needed for college admissions or scholarships in Mrs. Tomlin's office.

 

Scholarships

Make sure to fill out scholarship application section on Apply Texas application or admission application for your selected university or college.

Request for Recommendation forms are available in the counseling office. Complete the form, make copies, and give to the selected individuals that you have chosen to write your letters.

The Common Application will give instructions for submitting the letters of recommendation and can be obtained in the counselors' office.

Take time to go through some of the general scholarship websites listed in handbook given to you during your spring 2020 conference. The handbook also gives you information on the college application process.

All college students under the age of 30 will have to provide documentation of the Meningitis Vaccination to all colleges (public and private) in the State of Texas.
